Since the establishment of this excellent dance group it’s master is Michael Durkan, Irish musician and composer, whose experience stems from the cooperation with a different Irish dance formation - Riverdance. The first international performance of the ensemble in July 1998 in New Zealand got twenty minutes standing ovation of the audience. Other shows have been equally successful, performed with absolute precision, and most important - totally live. Media call Gaelforce Dance "Ferrari of the Irish dance in the world". It is the only tap dancing group who sings and plays live. Manager Frank Elwin never yielded to turn to the pre-formed recording instead of live tap dancing, the decision turned out right.  The fact that every detail of artistic expression Gaelforce Dance is live, makes each show unique and different from all the rest.
In 1999 an excellent choreographer Richard Griffin joined the group. When asked about the differences between Gaelforce Dance, Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, Griffin said: "We try to be different. We are more theatrical and we always perform live. Viewers go to the theater to see a live performance, and we give them what they expect. "
Gaelforce Dance is more of a musical than a folkloristic show. It contains the elements of pop, classical ballet, but also great examples of the tap dancing art. All this is accompanied by the spontaneous melodic Irish music, full of violin and guitar, flutes and accordions. Indispensable part of the live performances is also songs in the spirit of Enya.
Today Gaelforce Dance consists of around 30 dancers, 4 musicians and one singer. Some of the dancers change into the musicians during the show.
Irish dancing is a very complicated art. It’s not enough just to have a talent or to have a guide with planned steps or even to enroll to the intensive dance course. Good dancers spend most of their time rehearsing the accuracy of movements and dance steps and only dancers like that are in Galeforce Dance group. Most of its dancers dance for 15 years, started at the age of 5. James Devine, a solo dancer and choreographer of Gaelforce Dance and world champion, is the fastest dancer registered in Guinness Book of Records (38 strokes on the pad per second).
Dancers rehear all the time and even pain they often feel doesn’t stop them from rehearsing. When asked it they have problems with their feet this young people just smile. Bruises are very common.
The group carries the special dancing floor everywhere they go. It consists of 3 layers: layer of rubber and 2 different layers of wood. This floor is safer for the dancers and also is responsible for that specific tapping sound.
Live show has the exceptional play of lights that make the show even more colorful. Excellent solo dancers and well-coordinated dance troupe offers a unique experience which keeps you wanting to come back.
While the dance numbers Riverdance and Lord of the Dance requires maximum energy, strength and focus, Gaelforce Dance, this does not bother and their actions will focus on narration and theatricality.
Gaelforce Dance (Power Gallic dance) tells the story of two brothers, Lorcan and Cuan, who are totally different, like water and fire. They both fall in love with a girl name Aisling. The conflict is based on Shakespeare's classic love story, which is woven with passion jealousy and tragedy.
Fantastic performances enthrall fans of Irish and Celtic music, full of mystical charm and romance of the Irish countryside as well, as fans of dance and theater in particularly tap dancing.
