Serj Tankian in Prague Incheba Arena!
Serj Tankian will perform in Prague Incheba Arena (Small Sports Hall). Famous frontman of a metal band System of a Down this time will present his solo album in a brand new symphonic arrangements. The project Elected the Dead Symphony is reaping the success around the world and will be presented to the Czech audience, accompanied by about fifty members of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

Serj Tankian will return to Czech Republic after 3 years with the project Elect the Dead Symphony in a totally unique and breathtaking arrangements. Armenian-American composer and multi-instrumentalist is known mainly as a frontman of System of a Down, which published five successful records. However, the formation disbanded in 2007, but Tankian stayed in music and now has even more room for his vision of musical arrangements of orchestral compositions. Symphonic tone of his first solo album gives the songs a whole new dimension. It was demonstrated to the audience in a live accompaniment of more than 70 members Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra in Town Hall in New Zealand. Warner Music Publishing prepared a DVD recording, which offers an opportunity to remember this unique musical event. With his second independent album Elected the Dead Symphony, which will be released on the 8th of March this year, Serj comes on tour to present the Czech audience his unique composition and arranging skills, inimitable voice of expression and bold text.
From the flute to dreadlocks.
Serj Tankian was born in Beirut, Lebanon and for a long time didn’t show much interest in music. As a child he attended only the flute classes. After the graduation advertising and marketing, he founded a software company. Propensity to music never weakened though and at the age of 26 he founded his first band. During this time he met musicians, with whom he made System of a Down later. They released five albums that had a huge success. Serj Tankian is also involved in the political scene, along with Tom Morello he founded the organization Axis of Justice. He often participates in different demonstrations. Serj is a vegetarian and doesn’t watch tv or listen to radio. Currently lives in Calabase in California, but "second home" is in New Zealand. On a few concerts he appeared with dreadlocks, earlier his hair was dyed blond on the release of the album Toxic he liked to surprise the public with, for example, very short hair.
Fascinating show with Czech orchestra
Serj Tankian is currently completing his second solo album, which will be released in March this year. He now reveals that it is jazzier and has a more orchestral sound. This project is very specific cause on tour every show is played with a local orchestra. Prague is not different. The June concert will be accompanied by 50 members of Czech National Symphony Orchestra which id one of the most recordable orchestras in Europe. Record were sold in the U.S. and Japan, orchestra had very successful tours in Great Britain and Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Japan and Mexico. Under the baton of conductor Marcello Rota they accompanied such wonderful artists as Andrea Bocelli on his tour in 44 major cities andmusic centers, no tonly in Europe but also in the United Arab Emirates, Australia and New Zealand.
Since the beginning of 2007 principal conductor is Maestro Libor Pešek. Under his artistic direction the orchestra continues to enjoy a high level of performance.
